10. "Wish Me Away" - GIFT
GIFT grabs spot #10 with their catchy first release of the year from April 10, "Wish Me Away". We last saw them on our A List from July 12. Their new album, Illuminator, released on August 23. This album is light sounding and makes for easy listening.
The Brooklyn, NY-based band has quite a few upcoming shows, playing various East Coast dates in September, and throughout Europe in October and November.
9. "Here's The Thing" - Fontaines D.C.
Fontaines D.C. is no stranger to the A List and we happily welcome them back with open arms. "Here's The Thing" is the third track off of their newest album, Romance, that released on August 23. As of September 12, "Here's The Thing" has nearly 6 million streams on Spotify.
8. "Siren Song" - Cold Cave
Cold Cave labels themselves as a band that makes "Icy Synth-pop for the hot blooded." Their single "Siren Song" came out on August 15. Their newest album, Passion Depression, is scheduled to release on October 15. Fate in Seven Lessons, was released in June of 2021.
7. "Chewing Gum" - Amyl and The Sniffers
Amyl and The Sniffers has us rocking out with "Chewing Gum". "Chewing Gum" was released on August 21, following their previous hit, "U Should Not Be Doing That", that last appeared on the A List on July 5.
Amyl and The Sniffers recently played in Louisville and Indianapolis. While no album has been announced yet, be sure to follow their socials to keep up to date with the latest info.
6. "Get Me the Good Stuff" - Jade Hairpins
Jade Hairpins gets our attention with their track, "Get Me the Good Stuff", released on August 20. Their latest single features 3 other previous released tracks, such as: "Let It Be Me", "My Feet on Your Ground", and "Drifting Superstition". Their last album, Harmony Avenue, came out in May of 2020.
The band has a few upcoming shows listed on their Bandcamp, playing both in the UK and France later this fall.
5. "Oyster Beds" - Pixies
Pixies earns spot #5 with "Oyster Beds", their latest single from their upcoming album, The Night the Zombies Came, scheduled to release on October 25. The Oyster Beds single features two more previously released tracks, "You're So Important" and "Chicken", giving us a brief look into what's to come from an album featuring new music.
The band has upcoming shows later this year, featuring two dates in New Zealand and 5 shows in Australia.
4. "Riff Before Work" - HONEYMOAN
HONEYMOAN wows us with their single from July 31, "Riff Before Work". In just a few weeks, it'll have been an entire year since their last album, Sorry Like You Mean It, was released.
HONEYMOAN (Alison Rachel, Skye McInnes, and producer Josh Berry) have not yet announced another album or any upcoming shows, but make sure to follow their socials for the latest updates.
3. "Favourite" - Fontaines D.C.
This is Fontaines D.C.'s week - two tracks on the A List is impressive. Their new single, "Favourite", released on June 18 alongside "Starburster", which first came out on April 17 and impressively appeared on the A List nearly 5 weeks in a row.
Fontaines D.C. (Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III, and Tom Coll) started their tour in June, but make their way to the U.S. in September. Their nearest show is in Chicago on October 9 at The Salt Shed. Fontaines D.C. shows can be requested here.
Their newest tracks are a look into what's to come with Fontaines D.C.'s new album, Romance, which released on August 23. The band's previous albums, Skinty Fia and secondary release Skinty Fia go deo, came out in 2022 and 2023.
2. "The Hand That I Put Down" - Starcleaner Reunion
Starcleaner Reunion has us grooving along with "The Hand That I Put Down" from August 21. Another new track came out recently on September 10, "Plein Air". Cafe Life, their newest EP, is scheduled to release on September 20.
The band just finished a small East Coast tour last week, with only one upcoming show in Binghamton, NY on September 20 at The Bundy Museum.
1. "Oontz" - MICHELLE
MICHELLE has spot #1 with "Oontz", released on June 20. The song is off their new album, Songs About You Specifically, scheduled to release on September 27. Other songs from the album that are already out include "Mentos and Coke" and "Cathy".
MICHELLE has an extenxive list of upcoming shows across the U.S., such as New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; and more!
