Fontaines D.C. is no stranger to the A List and we happily welcome them back with open arms for the 6th time in two months. Their new single, "Favourite", released on June 18 alongside "Starburster", which first came out on April 17 and impressively appeared on the A List nearly 5 weeks in a row.

Fontaines D.C. (Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III, and Tom Coll) started their tour in June, but make their way to the U.S. in September. Their nearest show is in Chicago on October 9 at The Salt Shed. Uniquely, Fontaines D.C. shows can be requested here.

Their newest tracks are a look into what's to come with Fontaines D.C.'s new album, Romance, which is scheduled to release on August 23. The band's previous albums, Skinty Fia and secondary release Skinty Fia go deo, came out in 2022 and 2023.

9. "Babies" - Bodysync

Bodysync gets our attention with their track, "Babies". This catchy, upbeat tune is off of their new album, NUTTY, that released on June 28. "Babies" is incredibly on brand for the group, producing silly songs and outlandish music videos that get listeners up to dance and have fun.

Bodysync (producers Ryan Hemsworth & Giraffage) has 3 upcoming shows: Shambhala Festival on July 26, Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY on August 15, and Smoke & Mirrors in Chicago on August 24.

8. "Nomad" - Clairo

Slowing things down a bit, Clairo shows up at spot #8 with "Nomad", the first track from her new album, Charm, that released on July 12. This song includes her signature, dreamy vocals and is perfect for easy listening.

Clairo (Claire Cottrill) has 11 upcoming shows listed on her website. 5 shows in Los Angeles, CA and 5 shows New York, NY currently only offer a "waitlist" option for tickets. On November 15, she will be playing at the Corona Captial festival in Mexico City which still has tickets up for grabs.

St. Vincent captures us with another hit from her new album, All Born Screaming. This album has a much anticipated fresh, new sound after album, Daddy's Home, was released in 2021.

She is scheduled to play in Bend, OR on August 8, Boise, ID on August 13, Philadelphia, PA on September 6, and more. 4. "Papers" - Double Wish

Described as "Orange County dark-sunshine-pop", Double Wish has us moving to the beat with "Papers", the second track from their newest EP Universe Sometimes.

Inhailer Radio: Your song “Papers” has a melancholy undertone while still sounding light and groovy. Can you describe the meaning of song and how you decided on the lyrics?

DW: “Papers” is about intoxicating crutches and how hard it could be to take care of yourself, but finding the strength to do so. It’s about self-control slipping away, but snatching it full handed at the last second. It’s about overcoming failure with courage and humility—hitting rock bottom but bouncing back. Lyrically the song paints a picture of what it feels like to own your mistakes, but ulitmately rise above them.

Sonically juxtaposing moody tones with upbeat grooves is always a fun exploration of expression, and it kinda the bedrock of our band. There’s a sweetness in incorporating the spectrum that is life, a range of emotions and experiences that at most times is conflicting in mood.

Inhailer Radio: Can you tell us a bit about what inspired your newest EP, “Universe Sometimes”?

Double Wish: Universe Sometimes is a small step in a collection of work we’ve been making our way towards. A transportation and bridge from one place to another. Inspiration comes in many forms, one of which I’d esoterically point towards is dualism and balance in opposing forces.

In a lot of ways, “Universe Sometimes” was inspired by serendipity and the existential challenges life throws at you. It feels as if serendipity can confirm that you are in the right place at the right time; exactly where you are supposed to be. That feeling and experience can balance out the torments of reality. So in some ways it’s inspired by seeing, acknoledging, and embracing that serendipitous beauty when it’s there, and when it’s not, facing the challenges head on knowing you can rise above it.

Musically, the EP is heavily influenced by artists and producers we love—Dave Fridmann, Jacknife Lee, Laraaji, Cocteau Twins… the list is literally endless.

Universe Sometimes is a teaser of what’s to come.

Inhailer Radio: What are some things you hope to achieve with your group moving forward?

DW: World domination would be ideal, but would also settle for sustainable careers as artists. We love playing live and sharing our performative energy with audiences, giving them every ounce of energy we have. We want to bring our shows and our music to the masses—tour the globe and create life long bonds with our fans through a shared love of music.

In addition to playing for more people in more places, we are looking forward to release more music, and working with more people. In this economic climate it can feel ambitious to work towards a record, financially and socially, but our goal for 2025 is to hopefully release our first full length and support that release in ways that won’t leave us bankrupt… We’d love to just have more opportunities for taking Double Wish to any and all places.

Double Wish (Philippe Andre and Adam Sabolick) has been involved in the music scene in Los Angeles since 2007, but officially started as Double Wish in 2020 with "bedroom demos that became studio recordings". The duo has had new music coming out consistently, only letting a few months go between releases. Their last album Light Split Sparkle released in August of 2023. We are so excited to see and hear more!

3. "In Front Of Me Now" - Nada Surf

Nada Surf holds strong at #3 with their persevering and hopeful track, "In Front of Me Now". This is the first single from their upcoming album Moon Mirror, scheduled to release on September 13. Moon Mirror will be their first album since 2021's release, Cycle Through. Active since the 1990s, their sound has lightened over the years, but the feelings their lyrics evoke has remained.

Nada Surf (Matthew Caws, Daniel Lorca, and Ira Elliot) will be on the Moon Mirror tour this fall with special guest Office Dog, playing shows in their native city of New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, and more.

2. "Music is Better" - RÜFÜS DU SOL

RÜFÜS DU SOL wows us with their new upbeat dance track, "Music is Better", that released on June 21.

RÜFÜS DU SOL (Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt) have been active since 2010 and originate from Sydney, Australia. On January 1, 2011, they released Rüfüs, their debut EP. They have since skyrocketed in popularity, having over 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Vividseats has 6 upcoming shows listed for the band - 4 in Las Vegas and two in San Francisco.

1. "Boom Boom Back (feat. Beck)" - Hinds

Showing up at #1 on the A List is Hinds with "Boom Boom Back (feat. Beck)", released on May 7 with partnering track, "Coffee". This catchy, upbeat tune is a look into what's to come on their new album, VIVA HINDS, releasing on September 6. (Pitchfork's article on Hinds here.) "Boom Boom Back" has been seen on the A List previously, first appearing at spot #9 on June 7, spot #5 on June 14, and #7 on July 5.
