THE A LIST (4.18.25)

We’ve got a great list this week (and when don't we?). Wet Leg returns in full force to snatch the top spot with a punchy anthem that’s impossible not to replay. Alongside them, we’ve got new gems from Lucy Dacus, St. Vincent, Men I Trust, and a welcome surprise from Cincinnati favorites The Ophelias. It’s a list with equal parts fuzz, groove, and heart—and we wouldn't want it any other way.

As always, tune in with me, Nils, every Friday from 3–7 PM EST on Inhailer Radio to hear the full rundown. We’re streaming live 24/7 at Inhailer.com and on the app, and the conversation’s always rolling over on Discord. Let’s get into it.

This Week's A List Highlights

10. "Been So Long" - Durand Jones & The Indications

Durand Jones & The Indications return with soul turned all the way up. "Been So Long" is a smoky, slow-burning ballad that reminds us why we fell in love with their smooth sound in the first place. Falsettos glide, horns swell, and suddenly you’re in a late-night cab ride back from a too-good-to-end date. A quiet storm kind of track.

  1. "undressed" - sombr

If you’re not already paying attention to sombr, now’s the time. "undressed" feels like stumbling upon someone’s secret late-night demo—intimate, raw, and full of lo-fi charm. It’s bedroom pop in the truest sense, with whispered vocals and tape hiss that only add to its allure.

  1. "East Side Screamer" – Graham Hunt

There’s something irresistibly cathartic about "East Side Screamer." Milwaukee’s Graham Hunt mixes slacker rock energy with just enough emotional weight to keep things grounded. It’s the kind of track you crank on a solo drive, windows down, yelling into the wind with a grin on your face.

  1. "Most Wanted Man" – Lucy Dacus

Lucy Dacus doesn’t miss. "Most Wanted Man" finds her in full storytelling mode again, painting a picture of longing, lust, and heartbreak in slow-motion detail. It’s as vulnerable as it is sharp, with her signature lyricism front and center. One of her most quietly powerful songs yet from her new record Forever Is A Feeling.

6. "Sandcastle Molds" – Dutch Interior

There’s a soft chaos in "Sandcastle Molds" that we can’t get enough of. Dutch Interior melds hazy vocals, jangly guitars, and off-kilter percussion into something that feels like watching the ocean crash in reverse. The track unfolds like a dream—just don’t try to wake up.

  1. "I Want You (Fever)" – Momma

Momma turns up the heat on "I Want You (Fever)," a fuzzy, sultry jam that feels like the soundtrack to your most reckless crush. We're just happy to have another Ohio song added to the shared universe! "I never got Ohio, babe, but now I do". Talk about relatable ;)

  1. "DOA (From Death of a Unicorn)" – St. Vincent

"DOA" might be the sleekest thing Annie Clark has given us in years. This one's all noir allure and cinematic tension, with her vocals slinking between shadows and spotlights. It’s part soundtrack, part fever dream—and completely St. Vincent. Hear it in the new A24 film Death of a Unicorn, out now.

  1. "I Come With Mud" – Men I Trust

Men I Trust has gone country… kind of. "I Come With Mud" brings Americana textures into their usual dreamy palette, and somehow it all clicks. The pedal steel is the real MVP here, adding a ghostly twang to an already atmospheric groove. Road trip essential.

  1. "Cicada" – The Ophelias

There’s magic in how The Ophelias make melancholy sound so inviting. "Cicada" is lush and mysterious, building from hushed verses to cinematic swells, with vocals that feel like they’re being sung straight into your ear. Cincinnati pride on full display here—what a track. Check out their new album Spring Grove, out now.

  1. "catch these fists" – Wet Leg

At #1 this week, Wet Leg swings and lands a hit. "catch these fists" is sharp, sarcastic, and wildly infectious—the kind of song that makes you want to dance and break up with someone at the same time. They haven’t lost a step since their debut and this one’s a knockout (pun intended). Instant classic.
