10. "Burning Down The House (Talking Heads Cover)" - Paramore
Paramore's Talking Heads cover bookends this week's top 10, having spent several weeks on the chart consistently. Part of A24 Music's tribute album for Stop Making Sense called "Everyone's Getting Involved," Paramore has sincerely understood the assignment (read more about the tracklist artist lineup on Hypebeast here)
Hayley Williams has the vocal ability of a true eternal being. It's a mystery how she does it, but we're glad our ears are reaping in the benefits. (If you want to hear a truly unique Hayley Williams vocal sound bite, skip to 2:49)
9. "Capricorn" - Vampire Weekend
Something feels different about Vampire Weekend this time around. A more mature sound emerges, and we are graced with the indie rock legacy that Vampire Weekend has paved for many future bands who will never come close to their signature sound.
8. "Nothing Like" - Mannequin Pussy
This track deserves to have been on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack. Drum loops and dreamy vocals encapsulate our ears with wonder and whimsicality.
7. "Gen X Cops" - Vampire Weekend
We are graced with both a slow tempo and mid high tempo Vampire Weekend track on this week's A List. Props for the piano solo before the breakdown.
6. "Burial Ground (ft. James Mercer) - The Decemberists
The Decemberists always feels like a warm hug on a winter day. Burial Ground moves up one spot on this week's A List.
5."Hello" - Girl and Girl
This new chart entry from Australian band Girl and Girl is a refreshing sonic landscape of call and response guitars and vocals. They'll be supporting Royel Otis on their North American Tour in April.
4. "Neon Pill" - Cage the Elephant
This track has been a weekly consistent for almost a month now, with one week's exception. "Neon Pill" is a groovy and beautifully arranged staple on our regular spins list.
3. "Common Blue" - Warpaint
"Maybe, baby, we only have one life to live
Maybe, baby, we can be a butterfly"
One of the great things about Warpaint is their effortless ability to pull off catchy and soothing at the same time. We are so glad they're still at it. Girl power!
2. "Mood Ring" - Dehd
Another consistent and prominent A List track is Dehd's "Mood Ring." It's turning us on - sonically and otherwise. Dehd delivers a killer track. You can check out the tracklisting for their upcoming album, Poetry, as well as upcoming tour dates on Stereogum.
1. "When The Laughter Stops" - Yard Act (feat. Katy J Pearson)
Yard Act has been absolutely slaying lately (they just performed their banger "We Make Hits on Jimmy Fallon). Consistently delivering catchy delights, they stay at the #1 spot this week on our Top 10 this week with Katy J Pearson.
Same time next week? Thanks for joining us for this A List!
