If you've been tuning IN, you probably caught our Music Director Nils Illokken's "A Listers", (for our "A Listeners" *wink *wink), of the first week into March this past Friday.
If you somehow missed it, no hard feelings, we've got the loop for you right here and, of course, you can always catch Nils broadcast the weekly top 10 every Friday 11a - 3p EST!
Be sure to listen through the week to support your favorite artist on their next A List debut! Anyone, anywhere can dive IN here at Inhailer.com, or conveniently from our new iPhone and Android apps.
#10 “Sudd” – Adwaith
Yet another incredible Welsh group gracing our ears, this one being Adwaith, with a single from their 2022 Sophomore album Bato Mato. Sounding like a mix between Alvvays, The Cranberries and Cocteau Twins, this song is sung in their native tongue!
#9 “Caution To The Wind” – Everything But The Girl
You think you've waited long for your favorite band to put out a new record? How about waiting 24 years for Everything But The Girl? Husband wife duo, Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, are ready to grace your ears again with the newest trip-hop single Caution To The Wind, off their upcoming album Fuse, out 4/21.
#8 “Ring of Past” – Men I Trust
Men I Trust really know how to create what they call a V I B E . The single artwork does a lot of the legwork here for what the song evokes. Hazy memories of days past, roller skating with your lover. Oh... just us? Well, you can easily put yourself in their skates and jam along to this funky chilled out groove.
#7 “Earth To Sea” – M83
Staying steady, M83 is our featured artist this week. They recently dropped Fantasy - Chapter 1, which contains the first 5 songs on the record, leaving 6 yet to be heard. This chapter being the apparent favorite, judging by the latest A Lists! It's a good thing our Music Director, Nils, of course, is a whiz at making edits PC to keep the airwaves clean. He wasn't going to let the first "explicit" M83 song not get played on your favorite station.
Earth To Sea is everything you could want in an M83 song. A melancholic epic, ending in a beautiful explosion of sound.
#6 “Cowboy Nudes” – Geese
After a week away, Cowboy Nudes returns! We're still waiting for news of an album coming this year in this Rolling Stones-inspired post-punk sound, hoping there is one in the works! We just have one thing to say: NEW YORK CITY!! Yeehaw?
#5 “Love Is A Painting” – The Bug Club
This one, being a late bloomer to Inhailer ears, was released in 2022, but better late than never! The Bug Club put out their record Green Dream In F# in October and it contains this excellent short-but-sweet single we have just been loving.
#4 “Come Back” – Frankie Rose
Frankie Rose, formerly of Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls, is back with new original material! An excellent synth-pop tune placed her at #4 for her debut on the Top 10 this week. Love As Projection is out next week on 3/10.
#3 “Evolution” – Braids
The song that just won't quit! You can't escape Braids single Evolution here on Inhailer radio, ya'll just can't seem to get enough, it just so happens to be our Content Editor Sierra's favorite too. Their new album Euphoric Recall will be out next month, 4/28.
#2 “My Blood Runs Through this Land” – Black Belt Eagle Scout
An A List debut, we've got Native American singer-songwriter of Portland, OR Black Belt Eagle Scout. Their new album The Land, The Water, The Sky came out last month, tracing back roots to the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. My Blood Runs Through This Land is about Katherine Paul's connection with her ancestors.
#1 “Do It Faster” – Militarie Gun
Los Angeles rockers Militaire Gun are also making their debut on Inhailer's Top 10 as this week's #1! This is a summery jam that wouldn't sound out of place in the early 2000's, or on a piece of toast. They've got the full package on the way, but what it's called and when exactly is still to be determined. Our only request is that they... Do It Faster.
That's a wrap everybody! We'll see you again this Friday for the next A List.
Stay classy Cincinnati (and listeners afar).
