Matching Olympics ready tracksuits, grooves from all over the world, and an infectious energy that had the whole place getting down. That's exactly what Polo & Pan brought to Portland, OR's Crystal Ballroom this past Sunday for a sold out show.
While in support of their 2021 album Cyclorama, this French electronic duo of Paul Armand-Delille (Polo) & Alexandre Grynszpan (Pan) played a healthy mix of tracks from that album and 2017's Caravelle. One of the highlights was their hit 'Ani Kuni', a club ready re-imagining of a Native American song that sounds like a beautiful lullaby. Thanks to the Crystal Ballroom's spring-loaded dance floor (AKA a floating ballroom) I had no trouble jumping around like a madman to one of my favorite songs of last year.
We also had the pleasure of their guest vocalist Victoria Lafaurie who stole the show during the encore with her mesmerizing disco ball dress that ensured all eyes were on her. The bottom line is if you want to have a good time with expertly crafted and carefree dance music, don't miss Polo & Pan when they come around.
