Get excited! This Pine Box will be playing at the Woodward Theater Saturday but this isn’t just an ordinary show. The band is hosting an album release party with PHYSCO.
This Pine Box got its start in 2016. The band released its debut, self-titled EP in July of the same year. This Pine Box has released a handful of singles, including “Dance with Me One More Time” and “Point of View,” in anticipation of its upcoming first, full-length record. This folk-influenced rock band has undergone a couple lineup changes, but the current lineup is Jake Knight (guitar/vocals), Sean Warpenburg (bass), Joe Tellmann (guitar), Braden DeVine (keys), and JP Demmel (drums). This Pine Box really draws a crowd and has even played at events like SXSW.
PHYSCO is a local rock band that formed in 2014. The six-piece consists of Joey Loebker (vocals), Nick Ewan (guitar), Kainon Loebker (bass), Matt Morris (guitar/keys), Ethan Miller (guitar, keyboards), and Nathan Hoeweler (drums). PHYSCO released its debut single “Honey” in 2016 and has an album in the works. The band has a wide-ranging sound, taking inspiration from The Beatles, Slash, Damien Rice, Jim Croce, James Brown, and The Killers.
This Pine Box’s debut record will be available for purchase on CD and vinyl, as well as going live on streaming platforms. Pick up your copy this Saturday at the Woodward Theater and enjoy a great show from a couple of great bands while you’re at it!
