You, Tonight: Us, Today Album Release Show at the Woodward

Us, Today (not to be confused with major news outlet USA Today) is set to release their 4th studio album titled Computant on the tonight! The local experimental group will be playing it live for you at the Woodward Theater.

One day they met in a coffee shop, the next they were making music. The innovative trio claims no specific genre, they’d rather you decide. The music is freeform and ever-changing, giving more emphasis to their name. The band is made up of Kristin Agee on the vibraphone, Jeff Mellot on the drums, and Joel Griggs on guitar and synthesizer.

There are two songs from the album that are available for listening right now. “Spellcaster” which was recorded in one take according to Agee on Magnet Magazine and “What Time is it Now. Goodmorning?” Both tracks offer energizing instrumentals that echo influences of rock, electronic, and jazz, hopefully foreshadowing what the rest of the album will be like. Computant is available for pre-sale digitally, on CD, and on vinyl and will be sent out Friday.

Also performing is Cincy rock band Sylmar, and Dayton indie-pop duo Moira. They’ll be there to set the tone for Us, Today. Come sporadically improvise your dance moves this Friday at the Woodward with Us, Today as they play the album for you live and don’t forget to pick up a copy. Our contributions allow them to continue making great original music. Friday, June 15th @ The Woodward Theater doors @ 8, show @ 9 $8 advance, $10 at the door 18+
